Topic of Education Session: “Improving Communication … in a Technologically-Driven World”

Technology has taken over the world of health care and the ways we communicate with families. The development of EASE (Electronic Access to Surgical Events) and other “apps” to facilitate communication with families at home has been one of the greatest developments at Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in the past year. Several other programs facilitating family centered care includes the patient portal and medic alert bracelets with QR scanning capability for immediate access to patient records. Let’s learn more about this topic and discuss the benefits and challenges of such advancements.
