Our 200-bed hospital offers intensive and acute inpatient and outpatient services covering more than 30 disciplines. Our internationally recognized programs include blood and bone marrow transplantation, cardiology, genetics, orthopedics and solid organ transplantation. The Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children serves thousands of children in the Delaware Valley, across the country and around the world.

The needs of a child in the hospital today are increasingly complex, so we’ll be adding exciting new capabilities to better meet those needs for the future. Plans include a multiphase hospital expansion, which will include a larger pediatric intensive care unit with state-of-the-art technology, a new inpatient care building with all-private rooms, an expanded Emergency Department and patient family amenities.

Nemours is seeking Registered Nurses – CICU, 12-hour night shifts, 60 and 72 hours OR day shift with rotation to night, 60-72 hours, to join our team in Delaware.

We are looking nurses with a passion for cardiology and pediatric nursing to join our cardiac critical care team.

The Nemours Cardiac Center (NCC) provides comprehensive care for infants, children and adolescents with cardiac, thoracic and vascular disease. The Cardiac Center provides patient care, performs research, and educates and trains health care professionals consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of the Nemours Foundation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assess and document initial and ongoing patient needs and problems.

Formulate nursing plan based on patient needs and problems and indicate plan on the patient care plan.

Develop realistic and appropriate long- and short-term goals based on patient/family needs.

Implement patient plan of care.

Evaluate the patient’s and family’s response to care and modify care plan accordingly.

Assist patient and family in discharge planning so that problems and care needs are anticipated and met.

Serve as an advocate for patient and family in working with other members of the health care team.

Provide safe and appropriate nursing care through adherence to Nursing Department standards.

Requirements:

Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

BSN preferred.

Must be an experienced nurse.

Experience in pediatric/cardiac and/or critical care nursing preferred.

Current or be eligible for registration with Delaware State Board of Nursing.

Bilingual a plus.
