Children’s heart program sees approximately 800 patients in the cath lab, performs over 500 heart surgeries, and has over 13,000 outpatient visits annually.
The Position:
The successful candidate will be an experienced pediatric CV nursing leader who has the ability to foster strong relationships across the hospital and within the Heart Institute, and help strategically guide the overall direction of the program. The Director of Patient Care Services, Heart Institute, provides overall clinical/operational leadership and management for the Heart Institute and related services on campus and throughout the TCH Network of Care. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: primary financial accountability for the department(s); developing and monitoring budgets for all related cost centers; the recruitment, mentorship and supervision of departmental managers; directing department participation in hospital-wide initiatives and strategic planning; supervising development of departmental goals/strategic plan; and active participation in community, regional and/or national committees/organizations related to clinical service area. The Director of Patient Care Services is responsible for holding clinical leadership staff accountable for the management of safe patient care, maintenance of optimal care delivery outcomes and a patient family centered service experience.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years progressive clinical leadership experience
- Pediatric and/or cardiac nursing experience
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with hospital/clinic staff, children, parents and visitors Knowledge of medical/clinical operations, collaborative practice models, and fiscal management
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing or healthcare/business management related field
- Required License/Certification – Registered Nurse
