Dr. Pike, an Associate Professor at University of California, Los Angeles, clearly exemplifies the features of this honor. More about the award is available:

Congratulations to Karen Uzark!

She was awarded the Cor Vitae Award for Community Service at the American Heart Association Southeast Michigan Heart Ball earlier this month. Karen’s many accomplishments in research and caring for those with CHD and their families made her the perfect nominee and an undeniably winning choice for this award! Karen is also a founding member of SPCN! She was joined by colleagues as we attended the ball virtually, heard the tribute to her amazing career, listened to her lovely words of acceptance, and had a very active texting thread throughout the event – maybe no dinner and cocktails together at this ball but definitely ‘together’ to celebrate Karen!
