With its reputation for clinical excellence and patient safety, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Heart Institute provides a complete spectrum of congenital heart care with outstanding patient outcomes that meet or exceed national standards. Using innovative, sophisticated surgical techniques and minimally invasive modalities when appropriate, the program provides specialized care for individuals of all ages with congenital heart disease. We care for a variety of complex congenital heart defects from newborns to adults.

You will provide primary or acute health care services for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization; obtain patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic studies; perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care; provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, including use of prescriptive authority and referral to other healthcare providers or community resources; provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health and wellness, treatment options, and community resources. You will also provide care in the context of promoting age and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making and the right to self-determination.

Requirements:
*Master’s degree in Nursing and graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with specialization in area of practice.
*Florida State licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or other designation as required by law.
*Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
*Experience working in a Pediatric Cardiac Program, Pediatric Catheterization Laboratory and/or an Adult Congenital Heart/Structural Disease Program.
*Critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
*Able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
